Why don't people just understand that abortions prevent the child that would have been born to lead a likely miserable or problematic life due to poverty or neglect? Who's one to convince us othewise, when noone's quite sure what really happens to the fetus "spiritually."

Eugh, religious people... The most destructive force in the world today.

Catholics go around Africa selling prayer as medicine, telling the people AIDS is punishment from god for using a condom, administering homeopathic remedies for malaria and other illnesses... Everything there is cold-blooded murder. There's no two ways around it, these people are, without a second thought, committing mass murder.

In the middle east, jews and muslims are killing each other left and right because both factions believe their god wants the other guys dead and that the other guys are clearly living on land that was promised to them by their god.
The muslims are also extremely violent due to their religion, their religion's answer to everything is to kill or maim someone. A jew? Kill him! Made a picture of Mohammad? Kill him! Was born a woman? Mutilate her genitals, cut away every bit of sensitive tissue! Stole something? Cut off their hands! Was raped? Kill her! Spoke out of turn? Stone her!

In America religious people are holding back science, when they need to fight in order to keep evolution in the classroom, something is WRONG. In the entire western world, we could be SO much more advanced in the field of genetic engineering as well as finding applications for stem cells if religion was treated as the mental illness it is. If you want to rehabilitate someone who has been raised to be religious, you need years of therapy in order to get rid of the indoctrination they've been given, as their ability to think critically has been sabotaged so thoroughly that these people can sometimes actually believe the world is 6000 years old and that dinosaurs are simply their god's way of testing their faith.

I always feel like throwing up when religious people are mentioned, their willful disregard of the safety and comfort of others disgusts me.
