how can you even see that going counter clock wise
#2 - asd - 03/03/2008 - 21:34
I just dislocated my brain...
#3 - asdf - 03/03/2008 - 21:59
wtf? this makes no sence...
#4 - BurndOwn - 03/03/2008 - 22:56
Seen this many times before. I'm not sure how the rotation can be reversed but I have managed to do that couple of times. Apparently you have to somehow change your way of thinking for a moment.

WHOA! I did it! Yatta~~ o/
#6 - asdf - 03/04/2008 - 03:10
The image flips after a minute. Watch her closely. She spins to her left in the beginning, then flips, spinning to the right. It's no mind trick at all.

you fail people, it's an optical illusion type of trick, check the frames and perhaps you'll understand how it works, In fact the frames don't show which way she is spinning, that's why you can see it either way. The legs are the key

ITS A TRAP!
...its a test to check if your a "left" or "right-brained" type (realistic/artistic). Its irrelevant how they do it...
#9 - Ithos - 03/04/2008 - 09:55
If you look at her as if you're seeing her from above, it looks like she's spinning counter-clockwise. If you look at her as if you're seeing her from below, it looks like she's spinning clockwise.

If you try spinning a bottle and looking at it from both perspectives, you'll get the same effect.

You are wrong. Check the animated GIF with GIMP, ImageReady etc. you will notice that there are 34 frames used for this animation and it's only enough for one full spin.

btw, if you watch this with slower speeds it's easier to see the girl spin other direction.

I totally stand corrected. You're right. The ani is two half spins. After spinning 180 to her right, the image changes so that she's standing on her opposite leg going the other way. It does look like she could go full cicle either direction when put together.

A whole lotta fail my part
#12 - chaos - 03/04/2008 - 15:23
You can swap the spinning direction rather easily, just look down enough (or up or anywhere) so you only see the moving shape, and then imagine the shape to spin direction you want, and when you look at the image again, it goes that direction. Usually. At least for me.
And just by blinking it might start going other way again :)
#13 - jkk - 03/04/2008 - 16:41
I only see her spinning counter clock wise. Everywhere I look, it's counter clock wise. This is silly.
#14 - Tessa - 03/04/2008 - 18:46
For those who can't see her change direction:
Look at the shadow, it's easy to imgine the foot spinning both directions.
Now think of the direction you want to see and imagine the shadow-foot spinning that way, then slowly raise your head and notice that the whole thing is suddenly spinning in that direction! =]

Lol, the truth is that she's just limited. she spins some rounds counter than she changes to clockwise. cant be more simple...

It pains me that so many people are stupid and refuse to accept logic and instead believes what their eyes tell them in spite of contradicting evidence or even undeniable truth.

So here are a pair of gifs to make you (for lack of a better word) "see" what you previously refused to accept.

#19 - =O - 04/18/2008 - 20:58
stand Away from your computer while watching. The effect will be sped up.
#20 - Dr. Fegg - 05/26/2008 - 18:40
heres the trick
If you want to reverse her, watch the shadow at the bottom. Don't know hwy it works. It says a lot about weather you are left brained or right brained.
#21 - Dwindle - 06/01/2008 - 03:23
saw counter first
Concentrate on her foot on the floor and you can rewind her ;)
#22 - Paronfesken - 06/14/2009 - 00:04
I see her go counter-clockwise, after a few minutes i understood the leg thing and saw her spin clockwise
#23 - Carabia - 12/06/2009 - 16:06
I can change the direction by will but every time I first look at it, it's going clockwise.
