Moar things which help people to freak out... Like the one girl in india who commited suicide becuz she was afraid of LHC. Srsly thats not going to happen. Made me lol though

Yeah this retarded indian girl, it was just natural selection.

LHC is just ( ... )ing awesome, and even if die it will be an awesome death. Just imagine dying because of SCIENCE! it's just wonderful.

not this again....IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
the power of a black hole is so immense that an atom will only suck out at most 5 feet of matter. if anyone read up on black holes. for the simplest idea, it requires an explosion of a star at least 100 times bigger of our sun in order to create one. and all the elements involved in it to create the phenomenon. not 1 atom hitting another...
please stop with this joke. it really gets annoying.
at least show the suggestive rodeo flash video. that's always a kick on people's imagination.

Got a point, you have read about black holes, but not about the LHC.
First of all, theyr not creating Big Bang itself, only trying to recreate what happend just after it. Theyr trying to find something that gave atoms theyr mass n' shit.
And theyr not colliding an atom against an atom. Theyr colliding helium atoms stripped from electrons, so its basicly only protons and neutrons which take a part. AND the power released in the collide is VERY immense, so it is theoreticly possible for a black hole to appear, but its not going to happen IRL. Its just not possible in that kind of conditions. And if it does, like #2 said, it would be an honor to die in the name of science. Somehow minds me about Portal... (and the cake is not a lie BTW)

it's hadron, but it does give me a hardon
death by black hole, can it get any more awesome then that?
#7 - hardon - 02/05/2009 - 16:18
#7 yes can be cooler! seeing a star explode! you die the moment you see it! googl!
#8 - hardon - 02/05/2009 - 22:07
-facepalm-
you guys are obviously from /sci/

The truth: On 24 May 2011 quark–gluon plasma (the densest matter besides black holes) was created in the LHC

Also the truth: The LHC has the same chance of creating black holes, as opening spewing forth hungry dragons that well hunt people for food.

as dealing with a unknown probability, the chance is it won't happen. But it could be a possibility that it might.

I'm rooting for the dragons.
