Why is dagobah turning into youtube? seriously. I am finding tons of youtube videos and a lot less flash content.

#2 couldnt agree more.. thats the reason im rarely here anymore.. just a shitload of youtube clips nowadays.

to #2 and #3 an explanation:
We're having trouble finding real flashs, as these require more works. Good ones are even more rare. Thus these clips are like fillers, otherwise we'd have to go back to weekly releases of 6-10 good and real flashs. But users requested daily releases. Thus, clips. Also our server is under heavy load. 10mbyte/s constantly is currently normal, our monthly traffic is in the terabyte regions.
So to reduce the heavy load a little bit, and enhance the quality of the filler clips, youtube.

Secondly, there are exceptions. AMVs and Vocaloid-Songs mainly. Then some semi-flashs like this one. It has the style flashs had, except they used video as the medium of choice, so it's either crappy quality but flash, or good quality but not flash anymore.

dagobah's main goal is to ultimately draw all energy required for actual work and education away from normal people at work or in school to build our own virtual deathstar (our time killing beam is quite efficient already). So yeah, we accept videos as a kind of side dish. But only if they have that certain style.

But we also had our "phases", and there's still quite a lot of video flashs in the buffer left from before we restricted the video side dishes more.


Ultimately, it's all about the fun. Heck I've discovered way to many great songs via dagobah and interesting ideas to share. I feel as if I could cure cancer if dagobah stopped existing right now.

It's you choice to watch and stare. We're merely humans as well... (not sure about our page master, though)

If I had to choose, I'd at least go with the embedded.

No point in there being a flash/day honestly if it's a Youtube rip of an anime rip so the end result looks like it was recorded on a cell phone.

Actually had no idea how the site was run, thought it was all user uploads.

it's a mixture. about 1/10th are user uploads at best. about 1/4th of all user uploads are actually good. the rest is from other pages, but the success rates there are about 1/30, meaning checking 30 flashs gets 1 good one on average.

so yeah we could run a vote and ask people if they'd like the weekly releases back again. 8 good ones per week. that's the average right now.

remember that this page is run for fun, barely pays it's server costs via ADs (on good months only), and we all invest a couple of hours each week to run this shit so you guys can laugh without having to crawl through all the trash we are sorting out.

oh all in all about 5-10 flashs get extracted from 80-100 flashs , from which 2-3 are actually good. just remember this. there's no better system, except moving back to weekly releases.
