That's most probable since the suspicious 7.2 version, but I personally know of a case when police v& a guy, but couldn't prove anything because they couldn't get through the TrueCrypt encryption, so dude just got a fine for non-cooperation and most probably dodged jail time.

Also, it's all about other layers of security. TrueCrypt itself can't save you, you have to use your brain and wear a tinfoil hat whenever using PC.

The newest laws enables USA justice system to jail people for not giving out such passwords now.
So if You are being arrested for CP and deny giving out your password you pretty much confess being guilty in said charges.
Literally prepare your anus after that.
