Actually it is neither, it is real.
They have been working on this for a couple of years but the sharp edges always show to much to be truly useful close up.
However on a distance it should be useful.

Notice that this trick only works through the cameras, or if a external "projector" is used.

It's pretty much the same as the old green/blue-screen technology.
