I know an equally easy way to draw a realistic owl:

1. Draw an oval circle, with about 10cm width and 9cm height.
2. Draw a bigger circle in the shape of a upside-down egg at the base of the other circle, about 1.5 times wider and 3 times the height.
3. Draw the rest of the ( ... )ing owl

I know an equally easy way to draw the Tick.

1. Carefully draw an oval in the center of your paper.
2. Now bisect that oval by drawing a line through both its poles.
3. Now draw the Tick holding an oval with a line through it!
