Protip: there are multiple endings, I'd suggest people who really dig this game and are up for an epic challenge to read up on it

I was able to get it to work by downloading it and viewing it in version 10 of the Flash Player standalone. Six second delay from pressing play to seeing anything. Flash plugin 11.8 in Firefox and 10 in Internet Explorer hang forever after hitting play.

Seems bit sluggish but other than that i think its the full version, just more compact at that (inability to change button config bugs me thought). It sure took its time to get upped here, well since i have done everything in this game earlier, i can only recommend it... And oh yes, check wiki if you won't figure endings yourself

i first discover this game on this website http://dagobah.net/flash/cavestory.swf and i was like hmm seems cool downloaded it ... got really sad cause i messed up curly and forgot the rope i cried ... fixed my mistakes and replayed it and beat it twice... best game ever i wish i would have come out in the age of b/r/y pokemon and zelda ... it would have been so much bigger ! anyways good game

I'm back because of the nostalgia. I remember that thanks to this swf-port I discovered this wonderful game 10 years ago. It's unfortunate that it doesn't works anymore :-(
