Hans von Stoffeln: #10 The song was created at the time of the "Weimar Repuplic" (use Wikipedia). At that time the political parties numerous and extreme. There was a communist party aswell and this is a song from one of there members. Also note that "Eastern Germany" was under control of the Soviet union for decades after WW2.
