w: Holy bad explanation, Batman! (June 11, 2009, 5:16 pm)

hahuji: "The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't." Douglas Adams-esque guide to the Guided Missiles :-D (June 11, 2009, 5:21 pm)

sinnfreichan: source: http://asuwlink.uwyo.edu/~jimkirk/guidance.html wtf... (June 11, 2009, 6:25 pm)

r32r23r23: In order for the missile to reach it's destination, it only need to forget traveling to the desired destination. (June 11, 2009, 8:47 pm)

Anon: Am i a geek for understanding this crap? it uses PID control in 3D. (June 11, 2009, 9:43 pm)

Anoni: The missile knows where it is because it knows where it isn't. oh really? (June 11, 2009, 10:04 pm)

dunduuun: The missle knows where it is coz its in my butthole (June 11, 2009, 10:08 pm)

Stalkking: Classic YTMND ^^ Love it (June 11, 2009, 11:05 pm)

TheCancer: It's actually a pretty good explanation once you get to the end. Algebra II shit heea in da howse. (June 12, 2009, 6:12 am)

BurndOwn: http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Missile I think this explanation on missiles is much more accurate (June 12, 2009, 3:29 pm)

B4K4: It's middle school math all over again (June 12, 2009, 4:51 pm)

anon: what is that shit on my computer? (June 12, 2009, 5:57 pm)

anon: and what that Scientology banner doing here?! (June 12, 2009, 6:00 pm)

Titmaster: Now holy shit! I accidently opened the ellaborated compassion flash along with this flash. Mixing soundtracks from these two flashes works like kick in the vag. (June 12, 2009, 6:34 pm)

Horny: Am I the only one that gets a boner from seeing the missile leave the hatch? It's as if someone was pulling the foreskin on my penis all the way down (June 12, 2009, 10:31 pm)

Anon: The explaination makes perfect sense to me. And I'm not even being sarcastic or anything. >#15 Thanks a lot. Now I can't unsee it. (June 13, 2009, 6:23 pm)

anoon: *Brain explodes* Captcha: Slot (June 14, 2009, 5:53 am)

LordJebe: Now thats what i call a mind blowing explination. (June 16, 2009, 5:49 pm)

mRkukov: The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error. Inga: AAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHHHHHHHHHHHH (December 8, 2009, 12:36 am)

Mr_Nuke: If they would have said, targe, currentPosition, previousPosition, etc., it would have made sense to much more people. It's a simple PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) loop algorythm that is being described, and each position (where it is, where it isn't, where it should be) is a 3D vector. The PID is quite a common algorithm, and it'e even used in you car's cruise control, or your high-tech oven. Just google it if you don't get it. (February 13, 2010, 12:23 am)

Shade: I know how to blaa up a furrie's brain. THIS FLASH IS ZE RESPONSE. (May 7, 2010, 7:45 pm)

Anonymous: So... where was missile? (October 1, 2010, 1:06 pm)

Znookey: It was were it wasn't. Simple as that. (November 24, 2011, 7:24 pm)

PFC Gray: roflcopterm i am going through EOD training and i had this in Guided Missile Division and i was like WTF!?! i think the majority of my grey matter leaked from my head after hearing this explanation (September 22, 2012, 6:05 am)

Mike_Litoris: Holy shit this really made a lot of sense. I feel like I've learnt something important today. (April 24, 2013, 8:14 pm)
