Once online games started crowding the market, open source networks, such as the PlayStation 2, Dreamcast, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube took advantage of online functionality with its PC game counterpart. Games such as Phantasy Star Online have private servers that function on multiple consoles. Dreamcast, PC, Macintosh and GameCube players are able to share one server. Earlier games, like 4x4 Evolution, Quake III and Need for Speed: Underground also have a similar function with consoles able to interact with PC users using the same server. Usually, a company like Electronic Arts or Sega runs the servers until it becomes inactive, in which private servers with their own DNS number can function. This form of open source networking has a small advantage over the new generation of Sony and Microsoft consoles which customize their servers to the consumer. Nowaydays all consoles (PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, OnLive, Gizmondo, Wii) are able to connect to internet and play online games or play online against each other.

IOSYS are a Japanese musical ensemble and dōjin circle from Sapporo, Japan. The group produced the majority of remixed music from the Touhou Project series of dōjin games. IOSYS are generally best known for the Flash movies that go along with their songs, the most widely known of which are "Stops at the diseased part and melts quickly ~ Lunatic Undongein (患部で止まってすぐ溶ける　～ 狂気の優曇華院 kanbu de tomatte sugu tokete ~ kyōki undongein?)" and "Marisa stole the precious thing", both of which are popular on the Japanese Internet forum 2channel, Nico Nico Douga and in other otaku internet circles.

 

Touhou

MC_Owen.swf is Touhou flash. The Touhou Project (東方Project Tōhō Purojekuto?), also known as Toho Project or Project Shrine Maiden, is a series of manic shooters made by Team Shanghai Alice whose sole member is Japanese game maker ZUN, who does all the graphics, music, and programming.[1] The Touhou Project began in 1996 with the release of the first game, Highly Responsive to Prayers, developed by the group Amusement Makers for the Japanese NEC PC-9801 series of computers. The next four Touhou games released between August 1997 and December 1998 also were released on the NEC PC-9801. The Touhou Project was inactive for the next three and half years until the first Microsoft Windows Touhou game, The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, was released in August 2002 solely by ZUN after he split from Amusement Makers and started Team Shanghai Alice. As of August 2008, five more games in the main Touhou series have been produced by ZUN, along with two games made in conjunction with Twilight Frontier, and a spin-off by ZUN entitled Shoot the Bullet.
