It always amazes me how popular seyuus are in Japan. They almost get the same public image like japanese actors do. Of course some of them are also actors on the side but the same level of promoting is rarely seen in my neck of the woods.
Even though here in Germany almost anything on TV gets a localization and therefore a german dub. Noone seems to even know the names of the guys behind the voices. Then again... it gives them the luxury to live without all this public pressure.
