The protagonist makes a super-cannabis... bread something or other, that sends the baking-competition judge (the clown) back into the actual past, where he changes his own past so that his parents (the lion-headed King of Monaco and the Queen) don't lose him (the crown-prince), and when he returns to the present, instead of ending up in a circus and growing up as the Ultimate Pierrot, the timeline has changed, and he's the prince of Monaco.
